Essence 2

February 27, 2010

I just received another picture which was taken in December 2009. It’s more Dharma wheels but this time they appear outside. This is quite remarkable to me as it tells me that I am literally walking in the essence of the Buddha whenever I go there. You might be wondering just where there is, well there is called the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Memorial Center.  I mentioned in my first blog titled ‘Essence’ that we are building a complex to enshrine a Buddha’s tooth relic. The location was originally own by an explosives factory and it basically in our backyard. Now it will be used for something much more uplifting.

Here’s the photo I just recieved. It’s shot at dusk during a week when we held a Water and Land Dharma service which had 8000+ devotees in attendance. On this particular day we held a service at the construction site and that’s when the picture got taken.

Just to refresh your memory I’m adding a few of the pics I uploaded in ‘Essence’

here’s two of the inside.

If anybody else has experienced anything like this I’d sure like to hear about it.  I am convinced that we walk in the essence of the Buddha even though we rarely see it.

Someone who has found joy outside the box. Some who realizes that the world we have construed is hollow. A fabrication, a house of cards. A poignant thought provoking kick in the butt

I’m still not sure what to think about the images I’ve included below. I’m told that these floating spheres are the essence of the Buddha. When a shrine is built to venerate him his essence appears. This phenomena can’t be seen with the naked eye however, only cameras capture it. I’ve even included some pictures taken outdoors (same camera) during the same time as the indoor photos were shot.

I was actually present in the space when some of these photos were taken and I know I wasn’t seeing what the camera captured. Anyway here they are. If anyone reads this and has any explanations or suggestions I’m all ears. I have to say however that I am leaning towards belief. PS I didn’t take any of these shots.

Here is a wonderful example of right action. Tree ordination ~ Buddhism outside the box
